Frequently Asked Questions

Border permits are typically issued for a validity period of 30 days. You must specify your exact entry and exit dates.

No. The State Border Service only accepts original paper documents with wet stamps. Digital copies or photos on your phone will result in you being turned away at checkpoints.

Permits are issued for specific dates. If your dates change outside of the validity window, a completely new application must be submitted.

Yes, every traveler regardless of age who has a passport requires their own individual permit to enter the border zones.

Each traveler will receive their own individual, original permit document. This original must be kept with you at all times and never left at the checkpoints. We will also provide a few photocopies - if a checkpoint requests to keep a record, you should give them the photocopy. Military patrols will always ask to see the original document with the wet stamp.

  • If there is any military personnel at the checkpoint, provide your original passport, the original permit, and a photocopy of the permit if they ask for one.
  • If the checkpoint is empty, try to call anyone and simply wait.
  • If asked, politely tell them where you are going, for how long, and if you plan to return through the same checkpoint.
  • They will record all your data into their journal, return your passport and the original permit, and then you are free to go.

Data Privacy
